Jet-boating is exhilarating – jet-boating the Exchamsiks in Northwestern BC takes it to a whole other level. Waterfalls cascade around us, as we skim across the glass-like water. The skill of Rob Bryce, our captain and guide, keeps us from the jagged treachery just below the surface. Every turn reveals another stunning view. A bear swims across our path. My senses are overloaded. Twenty-five miles up-stream we stop. Silence and beauty envelope us. Our ascent to Rooster Tail Falls is extreme and comical. We start by scrambling on all fours through the undergrowth of a tributary. Slippery rocks and branches challenge every movement. Then its pretty much straight up for about fifty feet, clinging to branches and rocks and avoiding devils club. Our reward – getting to stand in the the most epic noise thundering, body saturating, make-your-heart-race-faster, freeze-your-arse-off, life affirming plunge bowl below the waterfall. Unbelievable!
